As people age, their bodies’ hormone production falls. In women, progesterone levels fall far more than do estradiol levels, producing a hormonal state that contributes to such unpleasant problems as PMS, hot flashes, night sweats, osteoporosis, endometriosis, fibrocystic breast disease, anovulation, vaginal dryness, menstrual migraine, depression, and mood swings. Progesterone supplementation is widely used for these conditions as well as for reducing risk of breast cancer during estrogen therapy (as in HRT or breast enhancement).
The bioavailability of progesterone is many times greater when applied to the skin (‘topically’) than when taken orally. Topical application causes a significant rise in progesterone levels in the blood and other tissues. Penetration efficiency varies from person to person and depends upon where on the body it is applied — breasts and underarms absorb best. A typical dosage is 1/4 to 1/2 tsp per day, but may need adjustment for optimal results.
This product is made from pure crystalline progesterone, identical in molecular structure to the progesterone made by your body.
