Acetyl-L-Carnitine Arginate (ALCA™) and Alpha Lipoic Acid (ALA) support
the mitochondrial production of energy. ALCA™ is a novel combination of
the amino acids Acetyl-L-Carnitine and L-Arginine. Acetyl-L-Carnitine is
found in high concentrations in human brain, nerve, heart, liver and
sperm cells, where it participates in metabolizing fatty acids into
energy by the mitochondria.*
Alpha Lipoic Acid is a water and lipid soluble antioxidant required by
the mitochondrial matrix pyruvate dehydrogenase complex, which is the
starting point of the mitosolic TCA (energy) cycle.*
ALCA™ and ALA work synergistically as antioxidants. This formulation is
protected by US Patent No. 6,365,622.
