We are pleased to present our new Supercritical Organic Boswellia. Tattva's
Herbs' Boswellia combines the wisdom of Mother Nature with the very latest
technology known as supercritical extraction. This state of the art technology
delivers a very pure extract that is both full spectrum and extremely
concentrated at the same time. It is so pure that you can actually smell the
qualities of the original herb in the extract, and you are greeted with this
aroma when you open a bottle. It is sweet and powerful. There is simply no other
extraction method so effective that you can actually smell the purity, fragrance
and essence of the herb. This is a testimony to the great care that goes into
the selection of the herbs and the supercritical extraction process itself. To
give you an idea of the potency and concentration of the extract, we can often
use as much as 200 to 250 pounds of fresh herbs to produce just one pound of
supercritical extract. All of the herbs are grown on organic farms and selected
with the greatest of care. The supercritical process produces an exceptionally
broad representation of the herbs' active constituents, which oftentimes
traditional methods of extraction cannot even begin to extract. Furthermore, the
supercritical process does not use any chemical solvents at all. Instead, it
utilizes safe and environmentally friendly carbon dioxide, the same carbon
dioxide that is found in your sparkling water. Finally, the supercritical
extract, post-supercritical extract (PSE) (a water-soluble extract), and the raw
whole herb are combined to create our herbal formula. The finished product is
superior in terms of both freshness and breadth of active constituents. It
delivers the full spectrum of the herbs with a potency that cannot be surpassed.
In addition, all of the herbs are independently tested for heavy metals and
other contaminates. The result is an exquisite formula that delivers simplicity,
purity and incredible potency all at once.
Supplement Uses: Boswellia is the premier Ayurvedic herb in helping the body
maintain a healthy and positive inflammation response. It works very well yet
avoids all of the irritation associated with many conventional pain relievers.
In traditional Ayurveda, Boswellia is believed to suppress the proliferating
tissue found in the inflamed areas and also supports healthy connective tissue.
Boswellia has also been found to maintain healthy blood supply to the joints. It
is often recommended to take Neem along with Boswellia or Joint Support to help
maintain healthy blood-toxin levels. Neem is generally recommended to be taken
over a course of two to three months. We offer Boswellia as a single herb or in
our Joint Support formula which contains Ashwagandha and Shilajit as well as
other supportive herbs. In addition to adding herbs to one's diet, one should be
very careful to eat a healthy and balanced diet as well as exercising regularly
to re-balance the body. Ayurveda also recommends the use of herbal massage oils
to cool and soothe the inflamed joints and muscles. Some very effective oils for
maintaining healthy joints include Maha Vishgarba Oil, Muscle and Joint Therapy
(Vata Oil), and Sesame and Mustard Oils. Ayurveda suggest that massage oils be
used on a daily basis and can be applied directly to the affected area, or used
in a full body massage. The oils can also be added to the bath water. This a
very effective way of assimilating the herbs into the entire body. All of our
oils are organic, cold-pressed and of the highest quality.
Contraindications, Toxicity, Cautions, and Safety: As with all dietary or herbal
supplements, you should inform your health care professional that you are using
this product. Women who are pregnant or nursing are advised to consult with a
physician prior to use. Boswellia is generally safe when used as directed. Rare
side effects can include diarrhea, skin rash and nausea. Any inflammatory joint
condition should be closely monitored by a nutritionally-oriented physician.
Additional Information:
English name: Boswellia
Botanical name: Boswellia Serrata
Ayurvedic name: Salai Guggul
Parts used: When the tree trunk is tapped, a gummy oleoresin is exuded. A
purified extract of this resin is used in modern herbal preparations.
Habitat and Botany: It is moderate to large branching trees found in India,
strips of bark peeled away yielding gummy oleoresin, contains Oil, Terpenoids
and Gum. Boswellic acid is isolated from Gumresin of Boswellia Serrata and
identifies as active principle.
Main Active Constituents: Boswellic acid inhibits the Leukotriene sysnthesis via
5-lipoxygenase but don't effect 12 Lipoxygenase and Cyclooxygenase activities.
Additionally boswellic acid did not impair the Peroxidation of Arachidonic acid
by iron and Escorbate. Data suggests boswellic acids are specific non redox
inhibitor of Leukopriene Sysnthesis either interacting directly or blocking its
translocation.
Comments: Boswellia is similar to frankincense, which is mentioned in the Bible.
This was one of the gifts that the wise men brought to celebrate the birth of
Christ. The frankincense which is referred to in the Bible is known as Boswellia
Carteri, which is similar, but has different properties than the Boswellia
Serrata that is discussed here. Boswellia Carter is an oil that is extracted
from the gum resin of a tree native to Africa and the Middle East. The resin is
now collected in China and then processed in Europe. Frankincense has been
treasured for centuries by various cultures and was used by numerous societies
to treat almost all known ailments.
