Easy-Swallow Niacin Plus
contains 141.7 milligrams of niacin, along
with l-glutamine and a dozen other niacin-enhancing nutrients, all balanced to
help the body utilize niacin more effectively than by itself. Specifically for
those who want a high potency niacin formula.
What Does
Easy-Swallow Niacin Plus Do?
Supports the brain's natural
self-cleansing function to improve memory and other brain
activities.
How?
Easy-Swallow Niacin Plus is formulated to
provide the body with nutrients to support the action of a
natural enzyme system that the body uses to "clean" the
brain of specific brain toxins that accumulate over time and
interfere with memory and clear thinking.
The formula is designed around the vitamin, niacin, which is
necessary for the formation of the nucleotide enzymes,
nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NAD) and its "cousin",
nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide phosphate (NADP), that are
necessary for the efficient functioning of MAO (mono-amine
oxidase) in the brain.
MAO (mono-amine oxidase) helps to eliminate toxic
by-products of brain metabolism of the essential amino acid
tryptophan so that there are less of these "toxins" in the
brain to interfere with healthy brain function. These
troublesome toxins are chemical cousins of hallucinogens
like LSD that are known to interfere with normal brain
activity. Therefore niacin, which is important in many other
parts of human metabolism, is a key nutritional support for
the brain.

Niacin And Its Effect On
Memory
Netherlands Study Finds Niacin Results In Memory
Improvement Of 10% To 40%
A double blind study was done in 1985 to see if 425 mg of
naicin daily (The amount of three Easy-Swallow
Niacin Plus tablets) could affect memory. It showed
that 425 mg daily (in three divided doses of 141.7 mg) could
increase memory test scores from 10% to 40%.
Loriaux SM, Deijen JB, Oriebeke JF, De Swart JH, The
effects of nicotinic acid and xanthinol nicotinate on
human memory in different categories of age. A double
blind study. Psychopharmacology (Berl) 1985;87 (4):390-5
ABSTRACT: The treatment
effect of nicotinic acid and xanthinol nicotinate on human
memory was compared with placebo in 96 healthy subjects.
Forty-three subjects were young (35-45 years), 30 subjects
were middle aged (55-65 years) and 23 subjects were old aged
(75-85 years). Pre- and post-treatment scores were measured
on a battery of memory tasks, covering sensory register,
short-term memory and long-term memory. The treatment regime
was 1 dragee t.i.d for 8 weeks. The administration of
xanthinol nicotinate (500 mg, containing 141.7 mg nicotinic
acid), nicotinic acid (141.7 mg) and placebo (lactose) was
double blind. Pre- and post-treatment scores were analyzed
by means of multivariate covariance technique, the
pre-treatment score serving as covariate. Nicotinic acid
treatment resulted in improvement of sensory register and
short-term memory. In comparison with placebo, both active
compounds yielded improvements of 10-40%,
depending on the task. Treatment effects of nicotinic acid
were predominantly found in the young and middle-aged,
whereas treatment effects of xanthinol nicotinate were
predominantly found in the old. These results are
interpreted by the supposed activity of nicotinic acid at
the cell membrane. improving neuronal transmission, and
of xanthinol nicotinate inside the cell, enhancing cell
metabolism and oxygen supply in the brain.
While the above study was done with 425 mg of niacin daily,
the benefits of niacin supplementation begin before the
measured benefits level is reached.
This progression of benefits with increasingly higher levels
is called "dose-dependent benefits" and indicates that some
of the benefits for memory begin somewhere before the 425 mg
daily level.
We developed Easy-Swallow Niacin Plus with
the 425 mg of niacin broken down into three smaller tablets
of 141.7 mg of niacin each. This allows people to increase
their daily dosage in smaller increments and still obtain an
amount of niacin that does have some benefits on memory (as
yet scientifically unmeasured).
While there are no independent scientific studies evaluating
niacin's effect on memory at doses lower than the 425 mg
used in the above study, in a 15% Sampling of 1800
SuperNutrition users, 73% reported
improvements in mental skills, mental; clarity and/or memory
within 30 days. 84% of these people were taking 300 mg daily
(in our Opti-Pack) and 15% were taking
higher doses of niacin.
Our Guarantee Of Memory Improvement Or Your Money
Back
We can't guarantee that every one will feel improvements in
memory, but we're so sure you will that we offer you our
25-year-old ironclad guarantee:
If within 30 days, you haven't experienced personal
improvements in your mental skills, mental clarity or
memory, we'll gladly refund your money at the point of
purchase.
CAUTION: If you have never experienced the
"niacin flush" it can be disconcerting the first time it
happens, so we advise you to read the following.
About The Niacin Flush
Easy-Swallow Niacin Plus
use niacin, the more biologically active form of Vitamin B-3
rather than the less-active form, niacinamide. One of
niacin's most beneficial nutritional effects is an enhanced
blood supply to the skin (as well as to the internal organs
and glands). This is called the "niacin skin flush". The
pink-to-red itchy skin flush indicates relaxed middle sized
and smaller blood vessels resulting in increased blood flow
without additional work by the heart. This in turn indicates
increased delivery of nutrients and oxygen to the cells as
well as increased waste removal from the cells. This is a
very desirable nutritional effect, but it can be
disconcerting.
The level of niacin in Easy-Swallow Niacin Plus
may cause the niacin skin flush in as many as 3 out of 5
people. It is usually characterized by a warm-to hot
transient reddening of the skin that generally lasts about
30 minutes, but may last up to two hours or more (rare). The
flush may bring some itching and may be followed by a slight
passing chill as the enhanced blood supply to the skin
returns to normal. Quite often, after a few days of regular
supplementation, the flush may diminish. Some people
however, continue to flush regularly.
Avoiding The Niacin Flush
The most effective way to take Easy-Swallow Niacin
Plus without flushing is to take one to two tablets
after breakfast and again after dinner. Generally , but not
always, the flush diminishes in intensity or no longer
occurs within two days.
And remember, everyone's personal metabolism is different.
This means that flushing from niacin varies from person to
person. Some people flush at very low doses (10-50 mg).
Others need over 200 mg of niacin to get a niacin skin
flush.
The Recommended Way To Take Niacin
If you elect to increase your niacin, we recommend you do so
in small increments with about 4 days between increases in
levels.
The most effective method to reduce the likelihood of a
niacin flush is to take your niacin supplements twelve hours
apart (with breakfast and dinner).
We further suggest that if you do decide to increase your
niacin, you work with an orthomolecular or vitamin-trained
nutritional doctor to ensure you are not exceeding your
metabolic optimal levels.
But remember, with at least one tablet of the
Easy-Swallow Niacin Plus, if you skip taking at
breakfast or at dinner, the flush will most probably
reappear the first time you start up the breakfast-dinner
cycle again, and then stop as long as you continue the
breakfast-dinner cycle.
Occasional Side Effects Of Higher Niacin Intakes
A very few people may also experience a mild, transient
headache or a slight upset stomach for a few minutes on
beginning niacin supplementation. These effects usually no
longer occur after a day or two.
Also, about one person in a thousand may experience a mild
rash (which may last from an hour up to a month) or feel
sluggish rather than invigorated when taking Vitamin B3 as
niacin (this sluggishness may last about four hours). These
people should take a supplement that contains niacinamide
rather that niacin.
We Recommend Careful Use Of Niacin For Those
Seeking
More Mental Clarity And Better Memory
Obviously, we recommend Easy-Swallow Niacin Plus
for people who seriously want to help their memory, but we
also want them to:
- Recognize the possibility of a niacin skin flush.
- Know that it has no detrimental effect on healthy
body chemistry.
- Then decide whether to try niacin or not.
We Feel Fast-Release Niacin Is Best
We caution niacin users that slow-release and time-released
niacin may overwork liver enzyme systems, and therefore we
recommend and use fast-release niacin.
