Clary Sage
Salvia officinalis
Clary Sage is a biennial plant with three-foot stems, compact blooms in white,
light blue or lilac, and velvety, pungent leaves.  Also known as "Clear Eye,"
the distilled flower and leaf water relieves irritated eyes. The essential oil
is used for perfumes and seasoning. Dried, it is found in teas and potpourri.
With aromatherapy, Clary Sage is a powerful relaxant that reduces stress and
fatigue. Historically, the herb also helped calm asthma and digestive problems.
