Udo's Choice Wholesome Fast Food 8 oz Powder

Udo's Choice Wholesome Fast Food Blend

was created by world-renowned nutrition expert Udo Erasmus, author of Fats that Heal Fats that Kill. Wholesome Fast Food Blend is a vegetarian, nutrient-rich blend of natural source fibers with added whole-food concentrates essential fatty acids, phytonutrients, greens and digestive enzymes. It is comprised of 50 ingredients that promote good health, but many are not found in the average North American diet.* Both soluble and insoluble fiber are required for good health and are essential for the healthy functioning of the human digestive tract. Wholesome Fast Food Blend contains insoluble fiber to bulk stools and ease elimination, as well as mucilaginous soluble fiber from flax, slippery elm, kelp, dulse and psyllium to bind cholesterol, toxins and heavy metals so they can be efficiently expelled from the body.* Containing more than 100 times the amount found in other foods, flax fiber is the highest known source of special antioxidants called lignans.* Lignans exert a positive influence on blood sugar imbalances and cholesterol levels.* Udos Choice Wholesome Fast Food Blend also contains a special selection of phytonutrient-rich vegetables and nutritious herbs with a long and successful history of use in folk medicine.* Some of these include Milk Thistle to improve digestion and cleanse the liver, Ginkgo Biloba to support good memory and circulation through antioxidant activity, and Grape Seed Extract to improve circulation and neutralize free radicals.* The formula also contains Artichoke and Dandelion, both of which support proper digestion and liver function. Digestive enzymes in the formula help break down the foods we eat into basic building blocks that our body then absorbs and reassembles to build cells, tissues, organs, glands and entire body systems.*

The Mayo Clinic website notes that fiber has several important roles in maintaining health: Insoluble fiber: This type of fiber promotes the movement of material through your digestive system and increases stool bulk, so it can be of benefit to those who struggle with constipation or irregular stools. Soluble fiber: This type of fiber dissolves in water to form a gel-like material. It can help maintain healthy cholesterol and glucose levels.* A high-fiber diet aids in weight loss. High-fiber foods generally require more chewing time, which gives your body time to register when youre no longer hungry, so youre less likely to overeat.* Psyllium has long been recognized for its potential role in reducing blood cholesterol.* As early as in 1998, the FDA already approved a health claim on psyllium: 3g to 12g soluble fiber from psyllium seed husk when included as part of a diet low in saturated fat and cholesterol may reduce the risk of heart disease.* The Annals of Internal Medicine published a groundbreaking study in 1993 linking psyllium fiber to the reduction of cholesterol.* The double-blind, placebo-controlled parallel trial, conducted by doctors at the University of Cincinnati, Washington University, and Procter & Gamble found that the supplement produced a small but significant decrease in LDL cholesterol levels in participants. (1)* In a Harvard study of over 40,000 male health professionals, researchers found that a high total dietary fiber intake was linked to a 40 percent lower risk of heart issues, compared to a low fiber intake.(2) * 1.
